Our Horn Antennas are used for emissions and immunity testing up to 40 GHz. They are made from lightweight, corrosion-resistant aluminium which is perfect for outdoor and indoor applications. Our models are typically constructed of a cylindrical waveguide, which is closed at one end and flares into a conical or pyramidal shaped horn at the other end.
The benefit of using a horn type is its low VSWR (Voltage Standing Wave Ratio), moderate directivity and wide bandwidth. Usually these antennas only have a slight loss – so their gain is equal with their directivity.
We have a diverse selection of eight modern horn antennas which are configured to detect specific frequency ranges of up to 40 GHz. They all have exceptional efficiency, and some of the antennas have built-in preamplifiers for improved sensitivity.

The first category consists of standard gain antennas. These are passive antennas with a pyramid-shaped design. We have 2 models which can be used as a receiving or transmitting antenna for various testing applications. Specifications of each antenna can be found on the individual product pages scrolling down.
The second category consist of one model, the AH-8055. This is a high gain antenna, which is simply a horn antenna with a high isotropic gain. It operates between 800 MHz and 5 GHz with incredible efficiency, and can even extend its range up to 6.5 GHz.
The third category is the double-ridged, (passive) horn antenna. Consisting of three waveguide antenna models that are considered as a passive instrument. They are widely used for various international standards - immunity and emissions testing. The 3 antennas cover a frequency of 700 MHz up to 40 GHz.
The last category, consisting of 2 models, is the active double-ridged antenna, meaning they are equipped with a built-in preamplifier. For more accurate readings, an integrated preamplifier can amplify noise signal directly at the antenna output – maintaining the signal level above the noise floor.
All of the horn antennas are calibrated individually to SAE ARP958 by NIST. The data and appropriate certificate is included with each antenna. All test equipment manufactured by Com-Power comes with a three-year warranty period.
